International sit-sit
It’s time for the most exciting event as a law student in Helsinki – the INTERNATIONAL SIT-SIT!
What is a sit-sit?
A sit-sit is an academic dinner party. The idea is that you will be seated down in long tables and given the instructions on table etiquette. But don’t take this the wrong way – sit-sit is anything but a boring, quiet dinner party. Sit-sit is one of the most vital parts of Finnish student culture and something you just have to experience while you are in Finland! The night will go on with dining, singing, raising toasts and dancing on the tables and the chairs. This is a great chance to meet new people and learn more about Finnish student culture while having fun!
Soon, Finland will have a new president. Inspired by this, the theme of the event is ”Leaders Around the World”. With elections going on around the world, it can only be the right time to celebrate this with our leader-themed sittning party, so you all get to feel like an important leader! Dress up as your president, prime minister or anyone you’re inspired by.
The International Student Sit-Sit will be held on Thursday 22.2.2024 at the Pykälä Club House. The evening will be completely in English. The cocktail party starts at 6.30 pm and we will be starting the dinner at 7 pm. After sit-sit we will have an afterparty at a bar that will be announced later.
A ticket with menu and some drinks costs 18 euros. You can also buy a songbook for 10 euros. The tickets are sold on kide.app and you can find them on the link below. The tickets can be bought on Wednesday the 7th of February at 12 pm. and the sale ends on Thursday the 15th of February.

Taas uudet kansainväliset opiskelijat ovat aloittaneet opintonsa Suomessa. Se tarkoittaa tietenkin, että International Sit-Sit tulevat taas! Ilta on loistava mahdollisuus löytää uusia tuttavuuksia ja levittää Pykälän sitsikulttuuria ympäri maailmaa!
Presidentinvaaleihin liittyvän vaalihuuman kunniaksi teemana on ”Leaders Around the World”. Pukeudu siis presidentiksi, pääministeriksi tai keneksi tahansa, joka inspiroi sinua!
International Sit-Sit pidetään Pykälän kerhotiloissa torstaina 22.2.2024. Tapahtuma alkaa cocktail-tilaisuudella klo 18.30 ja pöytiin siirrytään klo 19. Sitsien jatkot pidetään baarissa, tarkempi paikka ilmoitetaan myöhemmin.
